FARMINGTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS is Hiring a Technology Integration Specialist (FT) Near Farmington, CT

Farmington Public Schools: Technology Integration Specialist (full-time)
Start: Immediate / 23-24 school year, permanent position

Description:
Technology Integration specialists support instructional innovation using blended and digital learning platforms, google applications and inquiry-based teaching tools and strategies. They provide effective instructional support to teachers aimed at ensuring that students learn core content knowledge and skills as well as the competencies and dispositions essential for success in college, career, and citizenship. Through direct instruction and collaboration, with teachers and teams, they identify and implement technology-based learning tools that enhance and deepen students' learning experiences and assist teachers in more effective and efficient methods of instruction, assessment and use of data. They work closely with the district leadership teams to plan and provide professional learning experiences that are responsive to teacher needs and focused on school goals and priorities. Technology Integration Specialists collaborate with all stakeholders to successfully implement and monitor the district's Technology Plan at the school level.

Qualifications: Must hold or be eligible for appropriate State of CT certification
Consideration will be given to the following:

  • References that indicate excellent teaching talent, initiative, growth mindset and a learner orientation
  • Philosophy and values that align with the district's core beliefs
  • Various life experiences that enhance contributions to the overall district and/or school community
Salary: $52,618-$108,229 salary based upon education and experience; plus coordinator stipend per teacher contract

MISSION, VISION AND GOALS
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and communicate a clear vision for technology as a tool for learning that is aligned with the district goals and core content knowledge and skills
  • Stay abreast of current research, professional literature, and advancements or innovations related to technology-enhanced teaching and learning
  • Develop and monitor goals and collect evidence of success
  • Provide information to the district leadership teams in the budgeting process
TEACHING AND LEARNING
  • Provide recommendations and training regarding responsible use of technology
  • Provide instructional support and coaching for teachers at all levels of experience - novice to expert
  • Participate in the development of new curricula as appropriate
  • Evaluate and recommend new instructional applications and intervention programs / tools
  • Provide direct instruction to students that promotes self-direction and resourcefulness
ASSESSMENT
  • Assist teachers in creating effective formative and summative assessment strategies to promote student ownership for growth and development
  • Collect, analyze, and use data to help teachers plan responsive instruction and to improve programs
  • Work with teachers and colleagues to calibrate and communicate expectations for meeting standard
COLLABORATION
  • Assist the district leadership in communicating with parents regarding technology learning and related issues
  • Develop partnerships with faculty to facilitate the use of assistive technology
  • Contribute to district-wide committees to build coherence across all levels
  • Exhibit cultural sensitivity and respect for diverse cultures, values and beliefs
  • Contribute to a positive school culture and collaborative improvement work
PROFESSIONALISM
  • Demonstrate a learner orientation - participate in professional development opportunities, take initiative to improve professional practice, learn from feedback, contribute to the learning of other teachers and teacher leaders
  • Demonstrate professional responsibility - good attendance, timely work completion, organized and confidential record keeping, and ethical behavior
